Adult life

Well “we did it” …..for the first time in 2.5 YEARS Scott and I went out without the kiddos overnight. Yeah, I know…pretty pathetic, but in our defense finding someone willing to take both at once is damn near impossible. Anyhow, my mom was nice enough to take them so Scott, Myself and a friend of ours could go see Joseph Huber. I saw him years ago when he was with .357 string band and have been dreaming of seeing them again ever since. Those of you close to me know I LOVE the girl name Adeline, and these guys are actually where that name came from. Unfortunately, they have since disbanded but each play solo occasionally from what I can gather. So, after a very last minute realization that he was in MKE at club garibaldi we went, and as always, he didn’t disappoint! He even did an old .357 song half tank of gas, full tank of lies. I found what I can only hope will be another brief reunion for .357SB in 2015 in Sprague, WI…last year at this same festival they got together to do ONE song. While I don’t know if we will even be near this festival next year I would surely make it a priority if they were on the line up. Yes, they were that amazing…..a girl can dream….
In other news were again on the move! This time far less picky about location and much more dedicated to the “perfect job.” Were coming up on a year in IL and hating it more day by day. While we LOVE our home it’s just not the state for us (though the US in general seems to suit us less and less over time). So, it’s looking as though were again hunting and very excited about it! Wish us luck πŸ™‚

Apple Picking 2014

Well it’s no surprise that apple picking has become somewhat of a family tradition…we have gone to one place or another every year since we had A&B normally there are some form of farm attractions for kids but this years play farm took the cake. They found entertainment not only in the huge play equipment, mazes, and baby goats but also in apple picking. And that’s a first -last year they just wanted to pick the rotten ones from the ground and throw them away. IMG_2956.JPGWe met grandmaIMG_2981.JPG and some friends and their son for play time and a “last visit” before she heads off for boot camp. Im sad to loose a “mom-friend” in the area but beyond excited for what this new stage in their life will bring them. We wrapped up the day with Scott coming home a smidge early (ie he avoided Chicago traffic) and the boys crashing a whole 2 hours early. Wonderful day in my books πŸ™‚

Strawberry fields forever

Ok cheesy -I know- but these fields really did stretch on forever! Scott and I took the littles Strawberry picking at Stades!20140623-222431-80671606.jpgThis farm has a huge summer patch with ample space for picking. Granted, we went on a Monday afternoon but still- with about 20 people there none were even close to us:) 20140623-222434-80674771.jpgwe did find toooons of amazingly sweet juicy strawberries 20140623-222433-80673312.jpgIt was super tricky to juggle the littles and a strawberry bucket…..next time we will be bringing the jogger pod! Or plan on taking turns picking.20140623-222430-80670136.jpgBut we had a wonderful day finding a new summer fav. especially because their market has veggies, and they have a section of farm-attractions for littles! p*s* yes, I did get strawberry stains on the lovely white dress I stupidly wore… BUT…I found out yet another use for vinegar-stain removal! I dropped a splash into the bathroom sink with warm water let it soak for about 20min and voila…no stain:) Sadly, this wasn’t even the “highlight” from the trip, DeeDee took that prize by eating our remote in the 2 hours we were gone. Even though she’s turning 6 next month she’s still a Sassy Lil Lady!

Daddy Day!!

Well not quite the weekend but Scott surprised me and took off today to extend my Birthday celebrations. So as promised we FINALLY went to Rebuilders Exchange!!!

BBclass list

AAAAnd we even made it to IKEA and Carters πŸ™‚ seems even for mommas birthday the kiddos get spoiled. But they did need new mattresses as they are a whole 3ft and 1inches already!! The train track since they have been loving trains lately and a paper roll for crafts. And a few new shirts from carters were only a dollar since we had that “carters cash.”ikea train track
Plus we even had time for homemade Popsicles and a Water blob!

Middleton WI splash pad

While up for a visit nana suggested we go to the splash pad, it had just opened for the season so we decided to try it out!

First, I have to say A’s reaction to seeing this toddler water wonderland was HILARIOUS!
20140525-112536-41136354.jpg20140525-110858-40138884.jpgNeedless to say they were thrilled! They didn’t fall near as much as they thought I would.20140525-110905-40145085.jpg
20140525-110906-40146592.jpgand the place was pretty much empty.

Which was a huge plus for our giggly wee men πŸ™‚

Overall, they had a blast! The water was a bit chilly since it’s still early in the season. But the boys didn’t mind:) There weren’t lots of big kids to knock the littles over and the pad had enough grip for traction while running through the water. I probably won’t attempt to go to the one close to home without Scott or another set of hands but, we will surely visit this one again!

Mini Men birthday bash!!

I know every parent says it’s crazy and they can’t believe it and time flys and yes it’s all true. But with twins I think it’s a bit of a love-hate thing. The early years are so difficult yet we miss them being little (and not touching everything they shouldn’t while saying they’re saying “no, no”). So, feeling a little bittersweet about it, we celebrated our mini men’s 2nd birthday on Saturday! Take a peek!

Milwaukee Zoo

Grandpa and Nana came to visit on Saturday and treated us to the zoo! We had the perfect afternoon seeing lots of animals and even getting fresh ice cream. The boys absolutely loved the water misters, I think daddy did too πŸ˜‰Adventures

But we all had fun there was a nice breeze and lots of shady paths. Plus it really wasn’t that busy since we went at 3pm and they close at 5pm.
